Don't forget the attic and garage/shed items Make sure any outside items are kept dry, so that they are dry for moving day. Allow extra room for last minute items like bed linen, dirty clothes, toiletries Clearly mark boxes with contents and destination room Dismantle self-build furniture if it can't be moved whole Don't forget to take down curtains and any wall fixtures Secure parts of machinery which could be damaged during transit e.g. washing machine drums Keep essentials (eg toiletries, bed linen, kettle, microwave) separate and readily available for access at the other end.
